SUMMARY:Allied Health Professions Day
DESCRIPTION:Allied Health Professions Day is celebrated annually on 14 October. This year the main theme ‘Stronger together’\, highlights the benefits of multidisciplinary team-based care. While it is well known that allied health professionals play a key role in the health and wellbeing of all Australians\, health system reform is finally recognising the value\, both economic and clinical\, of multidisciplinary care. \nIt is vital that allied health professionals are recognised alongside their nursing and medical colleagues for their role in designing and implementing a comprehensive healthcare system\, that truly wraps around the consumer. \nWe encourage all to get involved. More information and a digital kit is available here.

SUMMARY:Australasian Sonographers Day
DESCRIPTION:October is recognised globally as Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month (MUAM)\, a time to acknowledge the crucial role sonographers play within the healthcare community. As specialists in ultrasound\, sonographers are celebrated for their vital contributions to patient care. \nIn Australia and New Zealand\, we have an additional reason to celebrate. Australasian Sonographers Day (ASD) is held annually on 27 October\, and it is a special opportunity for the Australasian Sonographers Association (ASA) to honour the profession. This day is dedicated to recognising the skills\, dedication\, and impact of sonographers across the region. \nHow you can get involved\nWe invite all sonographers to join us in celebrating ASD this October. There are numerous ways you can participate and demonstrate your pride in your profession: \nHost a Morning Tea: Gather with your colleagues to enjoy a morning tea in honour of ASD on Friday 25 October. It’s a great way to share experiences and recognise the important work you do. Register your morning tea for Friday 25 October\, then post a photo of your morning tea using #proudtobeasonographer to go in the running to win five water bottles for your team. \nRegister your workplace morning tea HERE
